Description of Role:
As a Plumbing Apprentice I will be involved in learning the delivery of excellent repairs services to all Phoenix Community Housing residents. This will be obtained through work experience, studying, training and development (both practical and vocational). I will be responsible for completing a course of study and obtaining work-related professional qualifications to ensure the ability to carry out the role of a Plumber competently and effectively within the timescale of the apprenticeship.

  • Undertake a range of tasks, under the guidance of qualified trade employees, suited to the current level of training and development and expect that these tasks will increase in complexity as the apprenticeship progresses.

  • Attend college and complete coursework on time and to a high standard as well as produce, maintain and be responsible for work sheets to document experience

  • Understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time

  • Liaise with any apprentice coordinator with regard to training issues

  • Attend and fully participate in regular training and reviews with mentor and line manager

  • Undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required

  • Ensure sound knowledge of Phoenix’s current IT systems and databases and be willing to undertake training for any future systems

  • Provide excellent customer care to internal and external customers and promote the profile of Phoenix Repairs Service

  • Be familiar with and act at all times in compliance with Phoenix’s values, policies, procedures, standing orders and financial regulations.
  • Carry out other duties within the scope and spirit of the job, and in accordance with the level of the post, as required.
